Dec 01,  · It’s nice to hear Alexander, a keeper of the hard-bop flame, in a live quartet setting for a change. Although recorded way back in at the Keynote in Tokyo, this was the period when Alexander was coming into his own, with his two best CDs-The First Milestone and The Second Milestone-soon to appear.

My personal opinion: For under 40 years old tenor player in nowadays, I found Eric Alexander is the best contemporary Jazz player. No matter his technique, his tone, his sound, all best for me. I found he is mixing with Dexter Gordon, Michael Brecker but also have his own style. He make long Ab Lids on stage but his improvisation is so melodic.
